There are plenty of brands offering whitening techniques across the world but we would urge our patients to ensure they understand both the gel and the type of laser to be used in the process in advance. Mydent uses Beyond laser whitening gel and Polus Advanced technology. Beyond has been recognised with awards for the best whitening brand for nine years in a row. The process includes:
DESCALE: Removing plaque from the surface of the teeth.
AIRFLOW: Removing stains by using a fine jet of compressed air, water and fine powder particles.
PROTECTIVE SHIELD: Applying the gel which protects the gums from the bleaching gel.
BLEACHING GEL: Applying the bleaching gel which will be activated with laser light.
LASER LIGHT: Activates the bleaching gel on the enamel with the help of laser light. This procedure is usually repeated three times and takes approximately ten minutes per application. We would expect to complete the procedure in around 75 minutes.
